10 Songs To Encourage You!

10 Songs To Encourage You!

It’s one of those days where I’ve had to revisit a post that encouraged me almost a year ago. Now, it is no secret that I am a HUGE fan of music, and not just one genre of music, I enjoy all types of music and am musicfied (music+diversified). Oh yes, I will make up a word and expect you to flow with me! 🙂

Now, I can harmonize with many of the gospel greats, rock out with some of the biggest bands, two-step with some of the best in country, croon with the baddest R&B artist’s on this side of the universe, flow like I have a contract with Def Jam Recordings, sang live on stage with a pop/rock band (especially Maroon 5), and perform (in my head) with Beethoven, Bach, Mozart or Chopin.

Music has such an important role in each of our lives, it is a powerful tool that we should use daily to help restore, repair, and inspire our spirits and souls. Music is an antidote to heal and cure many of the challenge’s we face in life.

I would like to share a few songs that I trust will inspire your soul:

LOVELY DAY – Bill Withers/Maroon 5

“When I wake up in the morning love and the sunlight hurts my eyes, something without warning love bears heavy on my mind. Then, I look at you and the world is alright with me. Just one look at you and I know it’s gonna be a lovely day…”

“…But now I know the meaning of true love, I’m leaning on the everlasting arm. If I can see it, then I can do it. If I just believe it, there is nothing to it. I believe I can fly, I believe I can touch the sky, I think about it every night and day, spread my wings and fly away. I believe I can soar, see me running through that open door…”

“Here’s a little song I wrote, you might want to sing it note for note, don’t worry, be happy. In every life we have some trouble, but when you worry you make it double, don’t worry, be happy. Don’t worry, be happy now. Ain’t got no place to lay your head, somebody came and took your bed, don’t worry, be happy. The landlord say your rent is late, he may have to litigate, don’t worry, be happy. Cause when you worry, your face will frown and that will bring everybody down. So, don’t worry, be happy…

WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD – Louis Armstrong (Satchmo/Pops)

“I see trees of green, red roses too. I see them bloom for me and you and I think to myself, what a wonderful world. I see skies of blue, cloud’s of white, the bright blessed day, the dark sacred night and I think to myself, what a wonderful world. The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky, are also on the faces of people going by. I see friend’s shaking hands, saying, “how do you do?” They’re really saying, “I love you!”…”

BELIEVE – Brooks & Dunn

“… I raise my hands, bow my head. I’m finding more and more truth in the words written in red. They tell me that there’s more to life than just what I can see. Oh, I believe.” “I can’t quote the book, the chapter or the verse, you can’t tell me it all ends in a slow ride in a hearse. You know I’m more and more convinced the longer that I live…”

THANK YOU LORD – Walter Hawkins

“Tragedies are common place, all kinds of diseases, people are slipping away. Economy’s down, people can’t get enough pay, but as for me, all I can say is, thank you Lord, for all you’ve done for me.” “Folks without homes, living out in the streets, and the drug habit some say, they just can’t beat. Muggers and robbers, no place seems to be safe, but you’ve been my protection every step of the way; and I want to say, thank you Lord, for all you’ve done for me.”

“…Forgive, but don’t forget, girl, keep your head up. And, when he tells you you ain’t nothin’, don’t believe him, and if he cannot learn to love you then you should leave him ’cause sister, you don’t need him… “Keep ya head up, ohh child, things are gonna get easier.” “Keep ya head up, ooh child, things’ll get brighter.”

MAN IN THE MIRROR – Michael Jackson

“I’m gonna make a change, for once in my life. It’s gonna feel real good, gonna make a difference, gonna make it right…”I’m starting with the man in the mirror, I’m asking him to change his ways. And no message could have been any clearer. If you wanna make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and make a change.” Chum On…

BEAUTIFUL – Mali Music
“It’s a blessing to see people with their heads up to the sky still. Cuz honestly for the same people, life can be so real.
I’m amazed by all your strength, I am and I’m grateful you come through yeah, yeah. So I take this time to stop a moment
and show my gratitude for you I put my lighter in the air for you…”

JUST FINE – Mary J. Blige

“…No time for moping around, are you kidding? And no time for negative vibes, cause I’m winning. It’s been a long week, I put in my hardest, gonna live my life, feels so good to get it right.” “So I like what I see when I’m looking at me when I’m walking past the mirror, no stress through the night, at a time in my life ain’t worried about if you feel it. Got my head on straight, I got my vibe right I ain’t gonna let you kill it…”

HERO – Mariah Carey

“There’s a hero, if you look inside your heart. You don’t have to be afraid of what you are. There’s an answer if you reach into your soul and the sorrow that you know will melt away…” “Lord knows dreams are hard to follow, but don’t let anyone tear them away. Just hold on, there will be tomorrow and in time you’ll find the way.”

So, please understand that every day is a lovely day and at times, all we have is to continue to believe you can fly (and arrive safely to your destination) and, don’t worry, but be happy. Deep inside of your spirit know that this is a wonderful world and, thank the Lord while keepin’ your head up.

Always start with the man in the mirror because you are beautiful and will be just fine. You my friend are a hero!

Move forward in RIGHTeousness XOXO
