The Magnificence of Money!
If you’ve been like me, at some point in your life, you’ve whispered a prayer that your debit card or ATM transaction would go through successfully for groceries or another necessary item because you weren’t exactly sure about how much money was in your account. 🙂
When I did get that six figure plus job in my twenties, I thought I had struck gold. But, there was no one around to tell me how tricky money could be and that the more you make, the more you are willing and ready to spend. That, is exactly what I did and am glad that I learned that lesson sooner than later. The one important thing that I learned was how very powerful money is in so many ways, good and bad.
The truth is, we must be good stewards of the money we have been fortunate enough to earn. And, though I am still learning, I do not want to give my money away or use it in ways that will limit any future earnings. I never pretend to be a finance expert, but, I am able to use the wisdom I have to help make it a little easier for someone out there.
I believe wholeheartedly that God made us wonderfully and that our energy can attract things (like money) to us if we have the right mindset and understanding of the thing we desire. To dig deeper, you will get the very things that you focus on in life (as a man thinks).
As a person with some insight, I would like to impart what I have learned and here are a few things I know for sure about money:
- Sow a Seed, Get a Seed – The laws of reaping and sowing have never been truer than as reflected in how we choose to use our money. In fact, if you’ve ever read any financial literacy books, one thing that all of the authors have included is the importance of giving back in some capacity. I believe people really succeed financially by ensuring that a part of their earnings are returned to philanthropic endeavors such as charities, churches, schools, etc. The key is to always be looking for a way to sow a seed into the community one lives in and beyond. Test this money theory today!
- Focus on the Dream, not the Dollar – I’ve tested this theory and it true in so many ways. When we focus on achieving the things we desire more out of life instead of focusing on the money, the money will ultimately come. I believe this is because we will do more creatively with the things we love which will ultimately give us the return we seek. Besides, the things that bring us happiness in life are the things we should be focused on and if we have a positive attitude and believe and speak greatness over those things, they will ultimately be attracted to us. Test this money theory today!
- Money does not equate to Happiness – You most likely have learned this lesson already, are in the midst of learning it or are simply in denial of this truth. There are people around us all day long who are simply miserable making all of the money they can manage. These people have allowed their careers and career aspirations to change and impact them mentally, physically and emotionally. I’ve seen people (been that person) making tons of money who are so stressed out that they are unable to enjoy the fruits of their labor. In my humble opinion, I would rather operate in grace than grind. The grind is doing just that, grinding us into the ground. I do not need to challenge you to test this money theory today!
- BONUS – You must focus your thoughts on wealth. If you constantly think about not having enough money, believe that you will live paycheck-to-paycheck, how expensive things are, how your family never had any money, or the like, you will not attract money to you. Also, if you constantly speak and think sickness, problems, or troubles, that too is what you will have. It’s not just about money all the time.
We must stop fooling ourselves to believe that money is the greatest thing we can earn and achieve. Yes, we all want it, but, if you’re like me, I want to get the money without sacrificing the most important things in life. This takes trusting that the universe was designed to respond to exactly what you put into it. So, instead of focusing so much on money, focus on those things that are good that naturally attract money like: (1) Believing you are worthy; (2) Be very grateful for what you have now; (3) Know you can; (4) Know you will; (5) Respect the power of money and (6) Give money away.
