God Favored Me!

God Favored Me!

Music

It’s no secret, I LOVE music and not just one genre of music, but all types of music. Don’t believe me, ask the cashier at Target who was scanning my music cd’s and paused to say, “Ma’am, you accidently grabbed an 80’s Heavy Metal CD!”

But, if I am honest, which I am, I will confess that the genre I enjoy the most is gospel and Christian music as they are food for my soul. So, when I was challenged to write this post about my favorite gospel song for our monthly link-up, WriteousReflections, I was stumped. No, I was really sweating trying to decide which song I would chose. But, then, like everything else in my life, it hit me like a brick that there is one song that has really ministered to me over the year’s.

God Favor

This special song is, “God Favored Me!” by Pastor Hezekiah Walker and the Love Fellowship Choir. Man, every sing word of this song tells my story and I am grateful that someone was able to express it in such a passionate and poignant manner. It really is everything.

Here’s a snippet of what I’m talking about:

Love is patient, caring. Love is Kind. Love is felt most when
It’s genuine, but I’ve had my share of love abused, manipulated
And its strength misused, and I can’t help but give you glory
When I think about my story, and I know you favored me
Because my enemies did try but couldn’t triumph over me
Yes they did try but couldn’t triumph over me.

I’m still here, I’m still alive, I’m still blessed, on my way to
My destiny, because the favor of God is on my life. Let me
tell you about love.

Love is patient, caring. Love is Kind. Love is felt most when
It’s genuine, but I’ve had my share of love abused, manipulated
And its strength misused, and I can’t help but give you glory,
When I think about my story, and I know you favored me
Because my enemies did try but couldn’t triumph over me
Yes they did try but couldn’t triumph over me.

They whispered, conspired, they told their lies (God favors me)
My character, my integrity, my faith in God (He favors me)
Will not fall, will not bend, won’t compromise (God favors me)
I speak life and prosperity and I speak health (God favors me)

Powerful, right? And, the truth of the matter is that when people have tried to come up against me, God has always lifted up a standard against them and covered me, made His presence known and allowed me to remain at peace through those situations. See, when you have greatness inside of you, you will most certainly come under attack. But, it is that same greatness that will push over the top and have you headed straight down your path of destination.

God Favored MeSo, when I’ve gone through the things that I have in my life, I cannot help but give God the glory and I can honestly say that I am #unashamed and continue to put my trust in Him and believe in His Word. Now, I feel another song piercing through my spirit, “What a Mighty God We Serve!” Sorry to digress but sometimes, I just cannot hold my peace.
Because I have had my share of love abuse, I am genuinely focused on being that person that people can count on and depend on when they are despondent or faced with a life challenge. Even if the only thing I can offer is my beautiful smile.

I no longer sweat when people whisper, conspire, tell their lies, attack my character, attack my integrity, attack my faith in God because I will not fall, will not bend and will not compromise. Instead, I will speak life, prosperity and health. Will you join in with me and shout, “God Favored Me?”

Yes! That song says it all and ensures us that we really should not worry about those who harshly judge us and say all manner of things. We must know deep within our heart’s that we are favored by God and He truly has our back.

Thanks for the encouraging support butterfly!

Yes! I LOVE this song too…singing…God favored me! What is so awesome about God’s favor is there are times the enemy is attempting to attack you and God’s favor steps in before you even know what is happening…handled…now that’s LOVE!

When I first heard this song, I was going through a time of judgement by others who clearly did not know that I had (have) an anointing on me. It made me realize that God is in the fight with me and I am a winner on that alone. That is when I begin to chill out and let Him fight my battles and I just get to watch.

Great to see you here Jamie! God Bless, Keep and Prosper You.

  • Mylah says:

Where would we be without God’s favor? Just the thought is greatly devastating! His favor is what made Him choose us to be His disciples before the foundations of the earth. THAT’s the ultimate favor! Praise God!

    • YGladney says:

Exactly! My goodness, where would we be without His favor and His caring for us (with all of our faults) to be the chosen people to carry his Holy Word.

I truly understand now what I heard so much as a child, “If I had 10,000 tongues, it would not be enough to praise Him.” OR “If you don’t praise him, the rocks are gonna praise him!”

WOW! Thanks for stopping by Beautiful Soul XOXO

Amen, Melanie! When we truly look back over our lives, we cannot do anything but pause, stand still and reflect on how far God has brought us and what he has brought us through.

      Have a Fabulous Day!
