Perfect is relative you know? Yes, I know you grew up hearing, “Practice makes perfect,” or “It has to be perfect.” or maybe “Perfection is key!” No wonder we have so many perfectionists (not really) like me in the world.
As I consider the word perfect, and all it stands for, I am bewildered to ever believe that I could ever be without any flaws, challenges, defects or short comings. I mean, to really think that I do things accurately and completely (even after doing them over and over) is well, fooling myself.
Think about a few individuals in your life and way (weigh if your perfect) O_o your beliefs, knowledge, dedication against theirs and I can guarantee you that you will have a different expectation of perfect than them.
Now, what I do know is that practice can make permanent. I mean, I have many permanent skills that I’ve honed over the year’s because I put in the time practicing things they would one day be perfect.
So, today, I give you permission to smile at those who expect you to be perfect and say, “Today, I am being perfectly imperfect.” Then, smile and go practice.
Naturally, “Life does not have to be perfect to be wonderful!”
