Stop Judging Yourself Negatively!

Stop Judging Yourself Negatively!

Today, I heard someone make a judging statement about herself that I already new wasn’t true. This person was being very hard on herself as she does exemplary work from what I’ve seen. I had to simply say, “Don’t speak that about yourself because, your words have power.”

Since I’m honest, with all I’ve got going on in my life, I realized recently that I have totally fallen off my positive mental attitude studies, my Biblical studies, my positive self talk, reading books that help me to remain strong, and more. BUT, I am determined to get refocused and have already begun to see the benefits just in the last few weeks of doing so. I am determined to stop judging myself and lift my own spirit when it begins to slump.

We are generally aware of when others are judging us or speaking negatively of us. But, we should stop to ask if they are doing so because we have spoken many of these same words or phrases over ourselves. It is important to stop negatively judging yourself in order to continue to elevate your self-esteem and self-awareness. Often times, we become depressed because of the thoughts we’ve continually fed ourselves and, though it can be difficult, we must do our absolute best to make it a habit to feed our minds goodness so that it can smother out any and all bad.

Here are a few things that I’ve been working on over the years to stop judging myself and, I invite you to consider doing the same:

  1. Stop Over Analyzing – THIS is by far the hardest thing for me to stop doing and, it will most likely continue to be so until I totally make up my mind to let things flow according to Divine intervention, trust, faith, and prior experiences that have shown that things will always work out. I’ve also had to learn that failure in ONE area doesn’t make me an OVERALL failure.
  2. Don’t Believe the Negative Thoughts – We are wonderfully and skillfully made and, we have to think about those things that are pure, just, fair, loving, kind, and pure.
  3. Love Gratitude – Gratitude is the key to life and, once we show God that we appreciate ALL things in our life, that is when the best things are going to happen for us. Another side of this is to say, “Thank you” when someone gives you a compliment, purchases something for you, or gives you a gift because you’re worthy and you deserve it. I have an entire site dedicated to GRATITUDE.
  4. Love Yourself, Treat Yourself, and Admire Yourself – Enough said.

Finally, I’ve written on this subject before here and here should you want more encouragement or to take a deeper dive.

Move Forward In RIGHTeousness XOXO♥
