Teach Me How To Dougie!

Teach Me How To Dougie!

TeachI totally understand that the song, “Teach Me How To Dougie” and the colossal dance that helped to frame the song ruled many summer outings, and made everybody bob their heads while desiring to learn the fresh moves regardless of how silly the lyrics may have been was significant.

So, when I heard the song recently it dawned on me that we can learn something from everything. The lesson for me was to be willing to learn. And, not just learn from anyone, but those who have mastered what your trying to achieve.

If we are honest, we can all admit that it really takes a village to raise people, not just children! That is why it is so very important to surround ourselves around people who honor the village mentality, will keep the village clean and will make sure that all of those in the village are on one accord and like-minded.

So today, I’m asking you, my village, my keepers teach me how to D.O.U.G.I.E. when I go off course:

Keep my DEDICATION to living the best possible life I can. Remind me of why this is important and teach me how you do it.

Be OUTSTANDING in everything I do no matter how many times I have to try and know that outstanding is something to strive for as I  get better. Teach me how you work at being outstanding.

Be UNIQUE and know that there is not another vessel like me walking this earth and that it really is perfectly fine to think outside the box or even throw the box away. Teach me how being unique is invaluable.

Be GRATEFUL at all times knowing that there are thousands of people in this world who would stand in line for days to have my life for one day. Teach me what gratefulness should truly be like if you even see an inkling of ungratefulness.

Remain INSPIRATIONAL as much as possible with the understanding that I will have to pause, reflect and regroup often. When I get this way and you see or sense it, please teach me how to restore the inspiration.

Stay an ENCOURAGEMENT because it is a gift that God deposited in me and I do it at times without even knowing it, feeling it or being about it. It just happens and at times, my flesh will take the lead and that is when I need you to teach me what encouragement looks like and get me back on track.

teach You got it! I’ve given YOU full permission to message me, text/call me (if you have the digits), write me or whatever to teach me how to D.O.U.G.I.E.! But, if you have not mastered the dance, please proceed with caution! LOL :D
